Top 3 Denton County Events to Celebrate the 4th of July I am so thankful to live in a country that is home to the land of the free and home of the brave. The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. It’s full of family time and patriotic community events. Here are my top 3 events to do in Denton County to celebrate the 4th of July:


Yankee Doodle Parade

To kick of your 4th of July fun, be sure to stop by the Yankee Doodle Parade in downtown Denton. The parade starts near Quakertown Park on McKinney St and will go on the west side of the Square. Judging begins at 8:30am and the parade starts at 9:00am. For the parade route map check out the Discover Denton website.

Freedom Fest at Rancho De La Roca

On July 1st, Rancho De La Roca will host their annual Freedom Fest in Aubrey, Texas. They are hosting a festival for everyone: firecrackers, fishing, rock climbing, and inflatables to name a few activities available. They will have concessions available from their Chik’n Coop Cafe. Fireworks will start at 9:45. It’s only $7 to get in for everyone over 3 years old, and if you stop by be sure to bring along a blanket to enjoy the show. Denton Kiwanis Club 45th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Show

This fantastic fireworks show is held at Apogee Stadium near University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The gates open at 6:00 pm and it’s only $10 to park. Admission to the stadium is free for the evening. Once you’re at the stadium there will be live music by Rubber Brisket. For food there will be concessions available and the proceeds to to the Kiwanis Club’s Children’s Clinic, and for the kids there will be a play area. Fireworks will kick off at 9:30, and it is a fantastic show in the heart of Denton. For more info visit the Discover Denton website.
