My Favorite Fall Activities in Aubrey, TX

My Favorite Fall Activities in Aubrey, TXSeptember is here, and I am ready for a break in the Texas heat. Like most Texans, I look forward to summer and am ready for it to go once Labor Day hits so we can get outside (without sweating) and enjoy the beautiful turning leaves before winter comes. After living in Aubrey for almost 20 years, I have my favorite fall activities that I’ve done year after year and some that are newer traditions. Here are some of my favorite fall activities in Aubrey, TX:

Peanut Festival

One of my very favorite Aubrey events is the Peanut Festival. This festival is held yearly on the first Saturday of October, and is so much fun. To kick off the fun, there is a parade that starts at 10:00 am at the old middles school and makes its way through main street and ends back up at Brockett Elementary school. Kids, businesses, animals, you name it are in the parade. If that’s not your thing, this year there is a horseshoe tornament, a peanut butter sandwich eating contest, peanut butter cup relay, a peanutty chef competition and a peanut spitting competition in honor of the old peanut factory. Or if you just want to hang out, there are various booths with food and drinks and various vendors.

Aubrey High School Football

What kind of fall is it in Texas without some Friday night lights. Let’s be apart of the “Together we will win!” motto for the Aubrey Chaparrals football team this year. This Friday, September 16th they take on Bendbrook at 7:30 pm. And put it on your calendars to be at the homecoming game October, 14th at 7:30 when the chaparrals play Bonham.

Football Schedule

There is so much great stuff going on in the next month in Aubrey that make this time of year so fun. I love the warm feeling of the football games where you fun into neighbors and family friends over the years. Plus the fall weather makes everything seem so much better than any other time of year.

If you want to know more about any of these fall activities, or if you’re in the process of getting ready to buy or sell your home in the Aubrey area let Sherry know!
