October is in full swing; full of festivals and pre-Halloween festivals. Here are a few highlights for the next couple of weeks for what’s going on in Denton County!

North Texas Hot Shots Concerts

Saturday October 17th, 12:00-6:00 pm

300 East McKinney St.
Denton, Texas 76201

This is sure to be a fun filled music day! Coordinated by Friends with Benefits Denton, The Rhythm and Beards, Chase Ryan and the Grave, Superkings, and the Holler Time will be featured bands throughout the day. All proceeds from this event will go to Michael’s Memories and the Russ Martin Show Listeners’ Foundation. If just listening to music isn’t for you, they also will have food trucks, silent auction and bags tournament sponsored by Taylor Tailgating. For more info check out their website here.

Barktoberfest

Saturday October 24th, 1:00-3:00 pm

Calling all pet lovers! This fun festival is perfect to get your beloved furry family members involved in your weekend plans. Not only will there be pet pictures, dog paw reader, and a pet fashion show to name a few fun events going on, this festival also has discount vaccinations and preventative services for your pet. Zoo Boo

$8 for Trick-or-Treat Kiddos and $6 for Adults

If you’re looking for a fun place to take your kids to trick or treat without worrying if it’ll be too scary for them, this is the perfect event for you! Zoo Boo is family friendly and is a non-scary Halloween event. They will have treat stations, bounce houses, and games and of course animals because its at the fantastic Frank Buck Zoo!
